Niche Marketing For Newbies
Almost every Internet marketer preaches about niche marketing. Is it that profitable?
If you select a huge market to sell your products, you are competing against the Goliaths who have already established their positions in the market. The consumers trust them because they have been long enough in the market to build their reputation and brands.
Niche marketing is not something new. Savvy entrepreneurs always sell to niches. Wondering why you are not making money, even you follow their exact method. The difference is that they find a niche market. They create a product for that niche and sell it to that niche only.
When you think of niches, it is all about identifying a small and profitable segment of a larger market. It takes time and effort to conduct a niche research. Large and established suppliers don’t bother to spend the amount of time and effort required to look for smaller segments. This allows you to pick these untapped niches, which are ready for profit mining.
If you want to do a niche research, you can use a free keyword tool at wordtracker or yahoo. You start from a broad market. For example, let’s start with golf. Using the tools at wordtracker or yahoo, the result shows sub niches such as golf clubs, golf shoes, and golf courses.
Instead of selling in the highly competitive golf market, you can find less competitive niches such as golf shoes. Of course, you need to investigate further if the niche can make money. To find what potential customers are looking for in that niche, scout for information from the forums, magazines, and eBay for that niche. In the forums find out what are their problems and concerns. eBay and magazines can provide some ideas on top selling products.
If you are new in the business, niche marketing is easier to start with. Once you have determined the niche with less competition and active buyers, you can start making money from that niche.
